- Paṅki (40 syllables) arose from his marrow and bṛhatī meter (36 syllables) arose from his prāṇa.
- Having given up one body which became darkness, Brahmā accepted this other body and concentrated his mind on creation.
- The two separated bodies united together in a sexual relationship.
- sa vai svāyambhuvaḥ samrāṭ
- yadā sva-bhāryayā sārdhaṁ
- etāvaty ātmajair vīra
- prajānāṁ mama ca prabho
- O sinless one! While Brahmā was thinking in this way, suddenly from his nose a small pig appeared, the size of a thumb.

- khuraiḥ kṣuraprair darayaṁs tad āpa

- trayīmayaṁ rūpam idaṁ ca saukaraṁ

- ananya-dṛṣṭyā bhajatāṁ guhāśayaḥ
- niśamya kauṣāraviṇopavarṇitāṁ
- yayottānapadaḥ putro
- eṣa māṁ tvat-kṛte vidvan
- dakṣo duhitṛ-vatsalaḥ
- priyaṁ bhīru yad icchasi
- na vayaṁ prabhavas tāṁ tvām
- etasyāṁ sādhvi sandhyāyāṁ
- yasyānavadyācaritaṁ manīṣiṇo
- yat-kāraṇaṁ viśvam idaṁ ca māyā
- After this, bathing and performing ācamana, controlling his breath and speech, and meditating, he chanted the pure, eternal gāyatrī mantra full of knowledge.
- May powerful Śiva, my brother-in-law, merciful even to the hunters, the master of women who are objects of compassion, the husband of Satī, be pleased with me!

dīkṣānujanmopasadaḥ śirodharaṁ
tvaṁ prāyaṇīyodayanīya-daṁṣṭraḥ
jihvā pravargyas tava śīrṣakaṁ kratoḥ
satyāvasathyaṁ citayo ’savo hi te
Dīkṣa sacrifice arose from your many appearances. Upasada sacrifice arose from your neck. The prāyaṇīiyā and udayanīya sacrifices arose from your teeth. The pravargya rites arose from your tongue. The satya and avasathya fires constituting kratu arose from your head. The piling of bricks arose from your five life airs.
Dīksā refers to sacrifices requiring special initiation. Anujamna is repeated appearances. The upasada (three special sacrifices) arose from your neck (śirodharam). Prāyaṇiyā means the sacrifice after the initiation. Udayanīyā is the final sacrifice. These arose from your teeth. Pravargya is a rite preceding the upasada sacrifice using a mahāvīra vessel. Satya is fire without performing sacrifice. Āvasathya is the domestic fire. They together form kratu. They arose from your head. Laying the bricks (citayaḥ) arose from your five life airs.

somas tu retaḥ savanāny avasthitiḥ
saṁsthā-vibhedās tava deva dhātavaḥ
satrāṇi sarvāṇi śarīra-sandhis
tvaṁ sarva-yajña-kratur iṣṭi-bandhanaḥ
O Lord! Soma arose from your semen. The time for morning rites arose from your seat. The seven types of sacrifice arose from your seven dhātus. The satra sacrifices arose from you joints. You are all sacrifices with and without soma. You are bound by the devotion expressed in sacrifice.
Savanāni means the time for rituals during the morning. Avasthitiḥ means seat. Saṁsthā-vibheda refers to agniṣṭoma, atyagniṣṭoma, uktha, śoḍaśī, vājapeya, atirātra and āptoryāma. They arose from the seven dhātus. Satrāṇi refers to many sacrifices performed over twelve days. Yajña refers to sacrifice without soma and kratu refers to sacrifice using soma. You are obligated (bandhanam) to devotion expressed to you through sacrifice (iṣṭi).
