ayi vyapaśyas tvam ajasya māyāṁ
ayi vyapaśyas tvam ajasya māyāṁ
parasya puṁsaḥ para-devatāyāḥ
ahaṁ kalānām ṛṣabho 'pi muhye
yayāvaśo 'nye kim utāsvatantrāḥ
O Goddess! You have now seen the illusory energy of the unborn Supreme Lord, by which I, the Lord’s principal expansion, have been bewildered. What then is to be said of others, who are fully under the control of māyā?
|| 8.12.44 ||
yaṁ mām apṛcchas tvam upetya yogāt
samā-sahasrānta upārataṁ vai
sa eṣa sākṣāt puruṣaḥ purāṇo
na yatra kālo viśate na vedaḥ
When I finished performing mystic yoga for one thousand years, you asked me upon whom I was meditating. Now, here is that Supreme Person whom time and the Vedas cannot approach.
Time enters everywhere, to influence everything. But it cannot influence the Lord. Though the Vedas know everything, they do not know the Lord. He is not approachable by time or the Vedas.

śrī-śuka uvāca
iti te 'bhihitas tāta
vikramaḥ śārṅga-dhanvanaḥ
sindhor nirmathane yena
dhṛtaḥ pṛṣṭhe mahācalaḥ
Śukadeva Gosvāmī said: O King! I have described the prowess of the Lord, holder of the Śārṅga bow, who bore the great mountain on his back for churning of the ocean of milk.

etan muhuḥ kīrtayato 'nuśṛṇvato
na riṣyate jātu samudyamaḥ kvacit
yad uttamaśloka-guṇānuvarṇanaṁ
samasta-saṁsāra-pariśramāpaham
The endeavor of one who constantly hears or describes this narration of the churning of the ocean of milk will never fail, because chanting the glories of the Lord destroys all sufferings.
Na riṣyate means “is not destroyed.”

asad-aviṣayam aṅghriṁ bhāva-gamyaṁ prapannān
amṛtam amara-varyān āśayat sindhu-mathyam
kapaṭa-yuvati-veṣo mohayan yaḥ surārīṁs
tam aham upasṛtānāṁ kāma-pūraṁ nato 'smi
