vijitāśvo 'dhirājāsīt

pṛthu-putraḥ pṛthu-śravāḥ

yavīyobhyo 'dadāt kāṣṭhā

bhrātṛbhyo bhrātṛ-vatsalaḥ

Maitreya said: Vijitāśva, the eldest son of Mahārāja Pṛthu,[15] who had a reputation like his father's, became the King and gave his younger brothers different regions of the world, being affectionate to his brothers.

In the Twenty-fourth Chapter, the Pracetās, sons of Pracīnabarhi, the grandson of Pṛthu, receive the prayers of Śiva.

Adhirājā stands for adhirājaḥ. Yavīyobhyaḥ means his younger brothers.

haryakṣāyādiśat prācīṁ

dhūmrakeśāya dakṣiṇām

pratīcīṁ vṛka-saṁjñāya

turyāṁ draviṇase vibhuḥ

Vijitāśva gave the eastern region to his brother Haryakṣa, the southern region to Dhūmrakeśa, the western region to Vṛka and the northern region to Draviṇa.

antardhāna-gatiṁ śakrāl

labdhvāntardhāna-saṁjñitaḥ

apatya-trayam ādhatta

śikhaṇḍinyāṁ susammatam

Receiving the ability to disappear from Indra, Vijitāśva was called Antardhāna (disappearance). In his wife Śikhaṇḍinī, he begot three good sons.

He got this ability after taking the horse from Indra during the horse sacrifice. After getting the boon from Indra he was called Antardhāna or “one who disappears.”

|| 4.24.4 ||

pāvakaḥ pavamānaś ca

śucir ity agnayaḥ purā

vasiṣṭha-śāpād utpannāḥ

punar yoga-gatiṁ gatāḥ

The three sons of Antardhāna were named Pāvaka, Pavamāna and Śuci. Formerly they were the devatās of fire, but due to the curse of Vasiṣṭha, they became the sons of Antardhāna. Again they attained the powers of devatās of fire.

Yoga-gatim means they attained the position of fire devatās.

antardhāno nabhasvatyāṁ

havirdhānam avindata

ya indram aśva-hartāraṁ
