Being very hungry, King Saudāsa seized the brāhmaṇa. The unsatisfied wife said to the King: O hero, you are not actually a man-eater; rather, you are among the descendants of Mahārāja Ikṣvāku, a great fighter, the husband of Madayantī. O hero! You should not act irreligiously. I desire to have a son. Return my husband, who has not yet impregnated me.
Aṛtārtham means “having an incomplete sex act.”
