Seeing how swiftly they were approaching, powerful Bhṛgu offered oblations in the southern fire with hymns from the Yajur Veda to kill those who destroy sacrifices.
Bhṛgu uttered mantras such as ahapataṁ rakṣa (White Yajur Veda, Vājasaneyi-Saṁhitā 1.9) which kill the destroyers of sacrifice.
|| 4.4.33 ||

When Bhṛgu offered them oblations, the Ṛbhus, who achieved soma by a austerity, arrived quickly in the thousands.
|| 4.4.34 ||
tair alātāyudhaiḥ sarve

Attacked with firebrands by the Ṛbhus, who were shining with the light of Brahman, all the ghosts and Guhyakas, followers of Śiva, fled in all directions.
