What is it?

1. The part of the body cavity between the neck and the diaphragm. It contains the lungs, the heart, the major blood vessels and the esophagus.

2. The part of the body cavity below the chest from which it is separated by the diaphragm. It contains the stomach, the liver, the kidneys, the bladder, the intestines and etc.

3. A thin dome - shaped muscle that separates the thoracic and the abdominal cavities.

4. It consists of two parts - the chest and the abdomen.
