Historical development and functioning of world literature in general and national literatures in particularity, their connection, interrelation and interchange of traditions name as a literary process.

7)               Specificity of literature as an art form.

The process of understanding the world is made in two forms - artistic and scientific. The artist explores the world in images, the scientist-in concepts. The scientist is committed to objective truth, the artist seeks to represent the world in its entirety. Works of fiction - the result of spiritual work to know the world, society and ourselves as a creative person. The subject of art is a human life and natural phenomena associated with it. The main purpose of art - to awaken good feelings in a man, his humanity. Art and artistic creativity in general: literature, architecture, sculpture, painting, drawing, decorative arts, music, dance, theater, cinema. All the arts are divided into visual and expressive, spatial and temporal, as well as synthetic. Artistic literature occupies a special place among the visual and expressive arts, including spatial and temporal arts synthesizing the properties of these arts. The specifics of fiction, as compared to other forms of art is that it reflects the reality and the writer expresses through words. The main function of literature: hedonistic, social, aesthetic, transforming, cognitive, educational.

8)               Artistic literature as a form of social consciousness.

Social consciousness is consciousness shared within a society. There is interrelation and interaction of all forms of social consciousness. They are the various forms of knowledge about life. The forms of social consciousness: stadial and coexistent. Stadial: magic, mythology, religion, philosophy, science. Coexistent: philosophy, science, religion, politics, law, morality, art, literature. Magic is the practice of using charms, spells, or rituals to attempt to produce supernatural effects or control events in nature. It appeared in primitive society. It had the stages of animism and totemism. Primitive syncretic art inseparably linked with magic, being a component part of rituals. In the modern literature the magic is tightly connected to a literary genre of a fantasy. The literature and art of the ancient world, Renaissance and classicism are based on mythology. Neo - mythology is the leading principle of XX-century literature. Authoritative clerical literature and Middle Ages Art are tightly connected to religion. Scientifically realistic reflection of the world starts to dominate during the Enlightenment and the New age. Struggle of classes was an essential aspect of social life and unconditionally found reflection in the content of literary works, representing its social political aspect. Literature reflects the outlook and worldview of the writer, therefore, closely linked with philosophy. The best works of literature were created at the crossroads of religion, geography, folklore, synthesizing achievements of different forms of public consciousness in the marginal form of literature.
