The Imperial War Museum in Duxford

The museum houses nearly 200 American military planes and ships, uniforms, badges and flags connected with the First and the Second World Wars.

Function:  to provide better understanding of the history of modern war and wartime experience.

The collections include: personal and official documents, photographs, films and audio recordings, a large library, an outstanding art collection, and numerous examples of military models.

Opening times: every day from 10 a.m to 6 a.m

Children under 16 have free admission (don’t pay for a ticket).

The Natural History Museum in London

The museum houses more than 80 million models, skeletons and stones connected with nature and ecology.

Function: to educate people and provide better understanding of natural world.

The collections include: numerous examples of plants, animals, minerals and insects. As well as books, journals, and art collections connected with the studies of biology and chemistry. It is particularly famous for its dinosaur skeletons.  

Opening times: every day from 10 a.m to 5 a.m

Admission is free (you don’t need to pay for a ticket).
