I don’t think that this story is rather funny or even interesting, it’s horrible. I think so because Burton did a terrible thing to a man who asked for help, he was just mocking him. He think it funny because was a cruel man, he knew in advance that Kobe would not make it, but told him to do it anyway.

2. What kind of man was young Burton? What do you think of his way of living? Do you approve of it? Why not?

Young Burton drank too much and he played cards, women thought a lot of him. Well, I think that the way he lived led to this end. He didn't think about the future , he lived in the moment. You can live like him, but not always. All the same, you need to take up your head, and not burn out your life.

3. Why do you think young Burton turned to his namesake for help when he was ruined?

He was just looking for help from somewhere. He was desperate and had nowhere to go. And he thought that Burton will be able to help.

8. Why did young Burton accept it? He knew he was not in good condition, didn't he?

Yes, he knew it, but he had no other choice. He was a swimmer at the University, but he wasn't at his best right now, but he still thought he could do it.

do you think so?

Yes I think he knew that young Burton couldn’t do it. At first, because he knew that it was very difficult even for him in good condition, the second he said the phrase “Well, I hadn't got a vacancy in my office at the moment.". From which it can be concluded that he did not intend to hire him.
