The Importance of Education

Monologue

Introduction: Education is very important nowadays and I’d like to give a talk about it.

1) First of all, an educated person has better career prospects and better chances to get a good job. Secondly, an educated person has an exciting life, as he has interesting hobbies and smart friends. Finally, a good education makes us clever, independent and skillful. We can compare and analyse facts, reasons and effects. We can make conclusions and take decisions. As a result, it’s difficult to fool us and make us do something harmful.

2)  Actually, we start getting education as soon we appear in the world. First of all, kids get a family education, then they go to kindergarten. After that, at the age of 7, children go to primary school. Four years later, children go to secondary school, and, finally, to senior school. After graduating the school, young people can enter a college or university to get professional education. Adults, who work, can also get education via mass media, courses and hobbies. So, we can say that we have a life-long learning/education.

3) Thanks to the Internet, distant learning is becoming more and more popular. Distant learning has some advantages. Firstly, people can learn according to their timetable, at their own pace. Secondly, people can learn from any place with the Internet access. However, there are disadvantages; for example, people can’t study on-line, if there are problems with their gadget or the Internet. Besides, it’s hard to study on your own, without physical presence of a teacher.
