1. It has its origins in the 13th century, since the time of the magnate, and for more than 700 years of history has served as a model for many modern legislative bodies around the world (including the USA Congress). For so long, the English Parliament has managed to acquire a lot of old laws, rules and customs, many of which today will seem to us at least strange. Well, you know how people develop various quirks in their old age that they don't usually pay attention to? Here are the most curious of the rules that still apply in the Parliament of the United Kingdom of great Britain and Northern Ireland

Uniform - According to the legislation of the time of king Edward II (XIV century), members of Parliament are forbidden to wear armor while in the Chamber. Once, the House of Commons consisted of knights, and the ban was relevant. Today, of course, it is unlikely that any of the current British politicians owns a knight's armor, but if such a Member of Parliament was found, he would have to change before entering the hall. Moreover, the Parliament has a fairly strict dress code. Men should wear jackets and shirts, women - in business clothes. Wearing, for example, t-shirts with various political slogans is prohibited. Although there were cases that parliamentarians still went to the meeting room in such t-shirts, but as a rule they could not speak, because they were stupidly not called by the speaker.
