The Christmas tree, or  a Yule tree, is a decorated evergreen tree, real or artificial, and a tradition associated with the celebration of Christmas. The Christmas tree is traditionally brought into the home and decorated with Christmas lights (originally candles),ornaments, garlands, tinsel, and candy canes during the days around Christmas. An angel or star is placed at the top of the tree, representing the host of angels or the Star of Bethlehem from the Nativity.  

 A Christmas village (or putz) is a decorative, small village often set up during the Christmas season. The tradition of decorative Christmas villages is rooted in the holiday traditions of the Pennsylvania Dutch. It is made of carved wooden  or plastic figures that represented the Holy Family, animals, shepherds, and other traditional nativity figures and beautiful houses.

Fairy lights In the United Kingdom, a name for Christmas lights. Electric lamps  for decoration and for special effect are known as fairy lights.

Angel chimes aka a form of Christmas decoration popular in Europe and North America. Being  mass-produced from metal and  bell-ringing angels

Christmas pyramid(German: Weihnachtspyramide) is a Christmas decoration which became popular in Germany . It is a kind of Carousel with several levels depicting Christian motifs, such as angels and others such as mountain-folk, forests, and other scenes from the everyday life of people. The spinning motion of the pyramids is traditionally achieved with the help of candles whose rising heat spins a propeller above. Christmas pyramids are mainly decorative purpose today, filling children and adults alike with holiday cheer.

 Tinsel is sparkling decorative material that mimics the effect of ice or icicles. It may be hung from ceilings or wrapped around statues, lampposts, and so on. Modern tinsel was invented in Nuremberg, Germany, in 1610, and was originally made of shredded silver.

 A tree topper is a decorative star, angel, Santa or other item which is placed on the crown (top) of a Christmas tree.

Batting At Christmas time some people like putting artificial snow underneath the Christmas tree. This may be cotton with glitter or  come soft materials - this way of decorating is called “batting”. Also ,special “Christmas tree skirt” is becoming more and more popular – you can buy it or if you like crafts, you can make it.

Crèche One of the most beautiful Christmas traditions is setting up a creche during the Advent season. A crèche is a model of the scene at the manger on the first Christmas in the stable at Bethlehem. A crèche can be a small model, set up in the home or a large scene set up at a church or lawn. There  are big crèches outside catholic churches in Europe ans Americas as well as special small crèches made as Christmas sets for homes – these can be made of plastic, wood, paper and other materials.

Streamers  are lengths of gold, green and red ribbons which hang in curls along the Christmas tree or from the ceiling.. They can be made of paper, ribbons or tinsel and help create a light-hearted Xmas spirit.
