" Initiatives on the use of QR codes in public places and during intercity and international transportation have been submitted by the Government of the Russian Federation to the State Duma.

The first draft law provides that in order to attend mass events, cultural institutions, catering facilities and retail trade, you will need to present:

- or a QR code about vaccination;

- or a document stating that a person has had a coronavirus;

or a medical withdrawal from vaccination.

According to the initiative, the decision on the use of QR codes and on which facilities they will be required will be made by the regional authorities. The measure will not affect pharmacies, grocery stores and essential goods.

At the same time, it will be possible to submit a negative PCR test to visit these facilities until February 1. After February 1, only citizens with a medical discharge will have such an opportunity.

It is assumed that the rules will be in effect until June 1, 2022.

The second bill is on the use of QR codes in railway and air transport. For intercity and international transportation, you will also need to present one of these three documents. It will be enough to present a negative PCR test result before the date that the Government will set separately."
